Salary: Salary negotiable to £60,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a well-established, Civil Engineering Contractor, working on Infrastructure, Drainage, Earthworks, Highways, Remediation and Enabling works projects.

You will be joining a forward thinking business, a friendly working environment and team of passionate individuals that thoroughly enjoy what they do.

The Role:

As Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in building a new sales territory for the business, helping to grow turnover to £50M over the next three years. You will be covering the South West of England, seeking opportunities to win new projects and generating sales revenue on your area. You will be developing relationships with local authorities and private clients & consultants.

In order to be successful in this role, you will be able to:

  • Research business opportunities & establish relevant contacts
  • Develop relationships with known clients in new areas
  • Seek out new business opportunities
  • Arrange appointments & visit Consultants/Clients
  • Network with Clients/Consultants
  • Put together marketing packs
  • Assist in the production of Pre-Qualification Questionnaire’s
  • Understand and implement use of Social Media 
  • Autonomously develop new business in an expanding geographical area

About you:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within Main Contracting, Civil Engineering, Specialist Subcontracting or Construction Consultancy

Strong understanding of the construction industry & current regulations

Strong track record of delivering revenue targets

Degree qualified in construction related discipline (highly desirable)

Experience of high level presentations

PC literate with experience of the Microsoft Suite of Packages

Resilient, personable with good interpersonal skills,

Excellent communication skills with an empathetic nature

Strong Team player
