Job type: Permanent

Salary: Negotiable to £45,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Business Development Executive to join a leading Builder’s Merchant with a fantastic reputation across the West Midlands.

You will be positively contributing to an ambitious and growing business, with a family feel and a collaborative team spirit.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will be instrumental in growing sales of Civils and Heavyside building products across the West Midlands region. Duties will include:

  • Maintaining relationships with current clients and developing new business opportunities with potential customers
  • Encouraging new tradesmen such as builders and property developers to partner with the business to encourage sales of the company’s range of Civils and Heavyside products
  • Processing customer sales orders, quotations, and supplier purchase orders
  • Keeping up to date with competitor pricing to maintain good customer service
  • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
  • Planning and implementing sales strategies to successfully meet sales budgets

About you:

  • Previous field-based sales experience, ideally obtained in a construction merchanting environment
  • Current knowledge of Civils and Heavyside materials and related market trends
  • Track record of delivering sales budgets from a mixture of new business development and managing existing accounts
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication skills, able to develop strong working relationships with key decision makers
  • Resilient individual with a can-do attitude
  • Team player, able to also work independently
  • Strong numerical skills
