Job Title: Buyer

Thorn Baker are working with a popular house builder based in Derby who are looking for a Buyer as a result of growth and an increase in demand.

What we can offer you: 

• Salary up to £45k

Responsibilities:

• Cost all Materials set out in the planning stage
• Source possible vendors and new goods, obtaib quotes from a variety of suppliers and subcontractors to find the best quality materials & services at the best price
• When a contract has been secured, negotiate the most favourable terms with suppliers
• Ensure that products and services comply with the requirements for safety, health, and the environment
• Coordinate closely with the estimator during the tendering process
• Create and maintain meticulous cost reports to increase organisational efficiency

What we are looking for:

• Experience within housing sector
• Experience working on apartment projects ideally
• IT literate, experienced with Microsoft Office
• Strong negotiator
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, comfortable working on your own and as part of a team.
