Job Title: Estimator
Location: Stockton on Tees

Thorn Baker's leading technical and energy client is looking for an Estimator to provide support on various Electrical & Industrial projects. You will be responsible for take-offs, pricing, and producing final estimates.

Answering to the Bid Manager, you will provide detailed estimates based on concept, schematic, and construction documents. This role involves visiting proposed construction sites.

Your Responsibilities:

• Calculate cost of materials, transport, labour, and equipment hire.
• Obtain quotes for predicted requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers, keeping detailed price lists & contract files.
• Source high quality materials at the best possible price.

• Consult with the Bid Manager, Contracts Managers, Project Managers, QS's,' planners and design teams throughout the project.
• Liaise with Contracts Manager to provide an accurate and effective handover agenda and ensure continued communication where necessary.

Required Skills:

• GCSEs or equivalent at grades 9-4 (A*-C) in Science, IT, Technology, English and Maths would be beneficial.
• Qualified electrical craftsperson/technician or relevant experience in the Electrical and Instrumentation Industrial Construction sectors beneficial but not a necessity.
• Highly proficient in numeracy 
• Able to undertake project management.
• Commercially aware
• Proficient at Microsoft Office, as well as industry-specific software.
