Thorn Baker's industry-leading client is looking for a Factory Manager to join their team.  You'll be part of a company that values community, sustainability, and providing the best possible for their buyers, contributing to their consistently high-quality builds.

Answering to the Operations Director, your primary responsibility will be to ensure production capacity in the factory facilities is utilised and carried out most effectively and efficiently - bearing in mind the changing programmes - to meet budgeted turnover.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the schedule and Scheduling Department to meet the budgeted turnover and re-balancing the weighting of internal and external customers, improving customer satisfaction, and operating within budgeted costs.
  • Provide leadership and manage the activities and development of the scheduling and purchasing staff. 
  • Monitor and maintain in conjunction with the Factory Manager an efficient and accurate stock-take system, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation, OHSAS 18001, and safe working practices.

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience in management, timber frame processes and construction, production planning and procurement.
  • Bring innovation to the day-to-day processes and procedures but also encourage innovation in others and bring that to the fore in a controlled and concise manner.
  • Individually able to work under pressure but remain in control and keep projects and individuals moving forward to meet the objectives.  Able to take independent action when required.
