Health Safety Quality & Environmental Manager / Permanent / Birmingham / Multi Site

Our client is a leading construction contractor with a reputation for quality, innovation, and a broad range of sectors, including Engineering & Build. They are currently seeking a Health and Safety Manager to provide ongoing HSEQ support to multiple construction sites in the Birmingham & West Midlands region.

In this role, you will work closely with site management teams, technicians, and client safety teams to drive HSEQ initiatives, monitor site safety performance, and ensure compliance with ISO45001 Safety, Quality, and Environment Management systems, company policies, and procedures. We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager with excellent communication skills, the ability to plan ahead, and a client-focused mindset. You should also have strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering results within deadlines. Role Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the client & Internal H&S team
  • Oversee and manage a small SHEQ team
  • Chair internal site H&S meetings
  • Attend client H&S meetings
  • Support site team on all H&S aspects
  • Review safe systems of work
  • Attend and advise during safe start meetings
  • Manage day-to-day H&S activities on site
  • Conduct workplace inspections and report findings
  • Conduct investigations into accidents or incidents
  • Manage on-site occupational health
  • Coordinate training of project staff
  • Contribute to the maintenance of ISO 45001

Role Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a busy site-based H&S role within the construction industry
  • An effective communicator at all levels with client-facing experience
  • A technically aware team player with experience providing health and safety support in the construction/building services sectors
  • IT literate with proficient report-writing skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Diploma level candidate
  • Main Contractor background
