Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester

Thorn Baker's leading technical and energy client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support their operational team in the commercial processes. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building engineering projects, managing risk, and negotiating the best value from suppliers and subcontractors.

Your Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Clients and Clients' Surveyors, Suppliers, Subcontractors, Utility Companies, and Local Authorities.
• Provide effective commercial and contractual support to the project team.
• Eliminate commercial risks in tenders during contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain sub-contractor accounts.
• Preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Ensure timely submission of all documents - contracts, etc.

Required Skills:

• Educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction-related subject.
• Demonstrable commercial experience.
• Mechanical & Electrical quantity surveying experience in a building services background.
• Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales.
• IT Literate in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Sound understanding of the implications of Health and Safety regulations.
