The company:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced quantity surveyor to join a well-established, award winning, independent building contractor based in the South West.
You will be joining a company offering a collaborative working environment, strong social values and committed to delivering construction projects that are of benefit to their local communities.
The Role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in commercial management of commercial works to the value of £6M. Working on up to three projects at any one time, you will be responsible for:
- Providing surveying capabilities
- Sub-contractor procurement
- Measuring sub-contractor performance with quality of work by regularly visiting sites
- Working closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to understand current issues and progress on site
- Issuing sub-contract works orders and variations.
- Preparing project related reports
- Final account settlement
About you:
Significant Quantity Surveying experience (min. 5 years)
Experience managing commercial schemes up to £6M
Degree in Quantity Surveying
Experience in use of MS Office
Commercially astute with strong numerical Skills
Confident negotiator
Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships sub-contractors and stakeholders
