Job Title- Site Engineer - (Rail/Civils)

Thorn Baker is pleased to be working with one of the country's most well respected, multi-faceted civil engineering companies.

Our client is looking for a well rounded Site Engineer to work on a long term, major framework in the rail sector. delivering large civil engineering bias projects across the South West region

The successful candidate will benefit from a generous remuneration package and have the stability and consistency provided by a long-term regional framework.

As Site Supervisor you will:

  • Allocate tasks to Assistant Engineers and liaise with Trades Supervisors and manage the task to completion.
  • Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed at the same time as the work to ensure that it is delivered to specification.
  • Be responsible for setting out for line and level on the site, obtaining setting out details from the Construction drawings or CAD model.
  • Ensure inspections are completed in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
  • Measure and record 'as built' elements of the work.

 

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • A good level of experience in civil engineering within the rail sector and workforce supervision including drainage, infrastructure and earthworks.
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders including design and commercial staff as well as client representatives and other site workers.
  • Experience of working on NEC suite of contracts
  • Valid PTS and CSCS as a minimum
