Our client is an established family-oriented business who design and manufacture their timber frames in-house using locally sourced products. They love the environment and offer a range of environmentally conscious timber frame, truss, web joist, and I joist construction options.

With thermal requirements and eco-standards raising year on year, this is a very buoyant time for this business and the timber frame design team continues to expand.

Cornwall offers beautiful scenery and a fantastic life-balance, in addition to design challenges due to weather and landscape conditions. The successful applicant will have plenty of variety to work with, designing unique structures that can handle exposure to high winds, utilise local products, are energy efficient and offer affordability  and a beautiful finish.

Suitable applicants will have: timber frame, truss, floor joist or steel frame design experience and advanced AutoCAD 2D/3D skills along with strong customer service and excellent communication skills in order to provide specialist technical information to team members and clients. Current technical knowledge to include building regulations, and knowledge of the construction industry with a focus on offsite construction and timber frame.

Core responsibilities will include: completing drawings for all new and existing projects, ensuring drawings have been interpreted correctly, and communicating with internal and external members of the manufacturing and production teams.
