Role:  Transport & Logistics Manager

Location:  Leicestershire

Salary:  £42'000 to £47'000 plus package

Sector:  Timber Frame Manufacturing

About You:

  • You will have held a role of similar seniority, ideally within the timber frame manufacturing environment, although this is not essential
  • You will have excellent organisational skills
  • You will have strong communication skills
  • You will have a thorough commercial awareness and understand the importance of scheduling the logistics in the safest but most cost-efficient manner
  • A good educational background, with minimum GCSE qualifications in Maths and English
  • Proficient level of skill with conducting an array of IT tasks

The Role:

As the Transport and Logistics Manager, you are responsible for the arrangement of all inbound and outbound deliveries to and from our Timber Frame Factory. You will, in the safest and most efficient possible way, arrange delivery of raw materials to the factory and then the delivery of manufactured goods out to our construction sites. You will work with the wider Dispatch Team to produce delivery schedules, ensuring stock levels are maintained so that frames are manufactured adhering to production schedules.

  • Responsible for scheduling the delivery of raw materials to the factory
  • Arrange for the delivery of soleplates to construction sites prior to the frames being delivered
  • Liaise with third party suppliers to ensure deliveries direct to site are made on time
  • Liaise with the relevant transport companies 
  • Responsible for keeping transport costs to a minimum, within a specified budgets
  • You will work closely with the Factory Manager and Assistant Factory Manager 
  • You will work with the Dynamics Team to monitor stock
